This piece was inspired by some of the amazing folk art I have seen recently. That and the fact that I am still playing with "the power of words" (see earlier post). Some of the messages in this piece are "I'm Reaching for the life within me..." and "You made the sound of pulling heaven down..." There are a few other seekrits too! Shhh... but those are left for you to find and interpret in your own way.
I am totally in-love with this piece. (Is it OK to say that about your own work??) And I plan on continuing the theme with some smaller sized pieces as well.
As always...Thanks for your input! :)

Hey Sarah, I really love the painting! I'm sure it took awhile to do but the end results are awesome and well worth the time.
Do you have someplace in mind to hang it?

Excited your own work is a good thing to have happen! This piece is gorgeous and looks a bit like your fabulous photo too - which in turn reminded me of Beverly Hillbillies - hope it's ok to say That!
Very nice work Sarah!
This piece has so much detail, but it all adds up to a whole with a wonderful feel. Love the messages included throughout! I think it's HUGE to be able to say you love one of your pieces, since we're all our harshest critics.
Rich and lovely! Wonderful colors. I've bookmarked your site and will check it often.

i used to live in poquoson va...just a few minutes from hampton...where you went to art and soul...
it has changed a lot...used to be a lovely smaller kind of city...now it is overgrown and impersonal, still a nice place.

I really really really love this piece too! I just found your blog via an altered books list and am glad I did! Thanks for sharing that with us! Altered art is new to me, I've lived a sheltered life! Been too busy having kids (4) the last 15 yrs. and am now finding myself again! Thanks for the inspiration!
