I Need Some Craft Show Advice

Hey guys,

I need some advice from those of you out there who do craft shows... What's the easiest and cheapest way to take credit cards? The last few shows I've done I only took cash and check but I'm ready now to upgrade. The only thing I am worried about are the fee's. I only plan on doing one or two shows a year so I was wondering if there was a way to rent a machine for only a month of two?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

XO

Hi, I really enjoy reading your blog. Have you tried looking into http://www.cellcharge.com/ ?
I have used this company for several years for my massage therapy business. I started using it when I used to do a lot of seasonal festivals (Octoberfest, Strawberry Festival, Harvest Festival, etc.). I did chair massage and sold gift certificates at my booth to promote my business. I don't do as many festivals, but I still use the service . Its easy, and the least expensive CC processing I have found PLUS you do not need a machine... you just process from any phone (cell or land line). Also, I don't even have a manual card swiper, I just write everything by hand on carbonless receipts that I get at office max. I stamp the copy that the customers keep with my business stamp. writing by hand takes a bit longer but doesn't cut into you profit as much! Just thought you might be interested.

Sarah, I was at an Arts in the Park show this summer where a lady was using Paypal through her computor by sending receipts to the customers pp addy and then they in turn used her computor to go to their inboxes and then over to secure paypal to send money back. then she checked her mail to see if the money is received. A few steps but it is pretty quick for people who know how to use paypal regularly.

Hi Sarah, I've just found your Soul Journalling prompts via iHanna. it is fantastic and just what I need right now, learning especially techniques and how to use different products; for instance I didn't realise that Matt Gel could be used as an adhesive.

Thanks so much for this and please reassure me that you won't be deleting it anytime soon, well at least not before I'veworked my way through the days.

all the best Carol Ann (ainelivia)

I'm a little late at answering this but have you looked into propay? It's what I use and love it!

Most people I know use that or those that have Iphones use square up.

Both are very cheap but reliable. Hope that helps!
