Soul Journaling: Day 12

I had lots of fun painting this morning. I hope you all are having fun too. Here are a few pictures of my process.

And here is my finished? painting:

It's hard to see here but I used some of my Micaceous Iron Oxide in my buildings and sky to give it a bit of extra sparkle.
Tomorrow you will need some small brads (you can get these pretty cheap from an Office supply store or even Walmart) and some type of heavy weight paper like card stock or watercolor paper.
Have a great day!

You pages look fabulous. Like the extra sparkle too!

Your pages have a lovely 'feel' to them Sarah...almost mysterious. Wish I could capture that. These are the only pages that have caused me problems up to now - I posted a picture last night then deleted it half an hour later!
I dislike the naive quality my houses have - I'm not used to doing this kind of thing. But its good for me to experience this and I have learnt SO much thanks to you.
Have you any idea how much we look forward to your posts?!!!

I'm having such a delightful time. I'm learning so much about myself in this process and I'm finding my "voice." I can't thank you enough for this project.

I have my neighborhood done, do stop by for a cup of tea and a stroll among my other creative friends.

As for my house, that will be revealed in the days to come. I still have some work to do on it.

Love your little neighborhood.
I finally finished my house today.
I used part of a manila envelope to make an easy pocket. My next page isn't more houses but my side yard with the tree and flowers and a fun chair to sit in to read in the shade.

almost caught up

Just have to say how much fun this project is. I have re-discovered some long abandoned techniques and my love of paint. Thank you so much for liberating the use of cheap paint, it really is the bomb! Loving the journal, and I log onto your blog AT LEAST three times a day to re read the steps...cheers,

Your pages are beautiful! I love how painterly they look - I'm afraid mine are nowhere near as totally cool looking, but I enjoyed making them! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity and time in leading us all along this journey. Whew - getting pretty close to caught up!

I finally have my house done! Swing by for a cup of tea and cookies. I do have some birthday cake left. It was a yummy torte with fresh Maine blueberries.

Just came back from vacation and completed my Day 12 pages. They were so much fun to work on. They are posted on my blog if you would like to take a look.

Anything liquid I use (water, marker ink, acrylic paints, etc.) seems to "reactivate" the gesso and just smear it around/mix it into whatever I'm using. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, can you tell us where you get your matte medium that you use as glue? All the wet stuff is reactivating my glue stick glue, too, and stuff keeps falling off.

Thank you! I am learning so much from these challenges!
